Amazon's Kindle eReader Platform
I bought a Kindle 2 in late February 2009. I was attracted to the no-monthly-cost built-in wireless access of the eReader device.
I really liked it. The way it connects people to content is a thing of beauty. Browse for a book, download a free first chapter, in a matter of minutes. Buy the book and have it in a minute. Open the Kindle up in the morning to fresh newspapers, magazines and blogs.
When the larger screen Kindle DX was announced I sold the Kindle 2 and preordered the Kindle DX. That was delivered in June. It sports PDF file format built in. The larger screen is a joy to read.
It was a short move from reading on the device to wanting to become a content publisher.
We have more than a dozen books in the production hopper making there way from final edits, cover illustrations onto production on several mobile device formats including Amazon Kindle, MobiPocket and others.
Interesting things are happening. One of the authors is buying a Kindle because we're publishing his work to it and he sees our enthusiasm about the device.
